Phew! It takes a lot of effort to get all the ducks in a row to submit to Steam Greenlight and Kickstarter, but we're almost there.
Why Steam Greenlight?
We need to bolster our confidence that there's a market for a 2d side scrolling turn based shmup. It would also be great to get some feedback and constructive criticism while there's still time to shape the game. Greenlight seems perfect for this.
Why Kickstarter?
We've self funded the game so far and estimate we're 50% complete. We now need time to add lots of content to the core mechanics. We could continue to self fund (by going out and working for a while), but we're interested to see if there's enough interest to crowd fund it. If we can get crowd funding then the game will see the light of day that much sooner.
