You have been all but forgotten. Only three remember your name, and it is their faith that keeps you in existence. Only by protecting your followers with your godly abilities will they be able to tell your story, and theirs, bringing your name back to the mouths of the people. It is up to you to make your followers legends in the eyes of the masses-- only in this way will you truly return to power. Your name has been stricken from the history books, but your essence has not been lost. They Will Remember You.

Hey all! Just wanted to give a little update on MicroDungeon! Alpha Demo 2 is out, and I've made a couple of changes since the last version. The biggest noticeable change is the Town screen (the UI is temporary!).

The Town Overview
The Temporary Town Screen

The Towns will be your Follower's staging areas for their excursions. Each town will have a main (hand-made) Dungeon, and several that will be procedurally generated, that must be explored before the player can continue to the next town. When Followers return from Dungeons, more people in town believe will believe in you. There's also an icon for each follower, allowing you to get more information about them!

Right now, it just displays just about all of the information you need to truly know, with the exception of the character's abilities. When the character inventory is beefed up, I'll be adding more stuff pertaining to that.

The other major change you'll notice is the inclusion of [simple] animations!

New-Damage-Floaters

There are only three attack animations, one for each major kind of attack (Melee, Magic Ranged, Non-Magic Ranged) for now. I also added damage floaters! I was hoping to actually push back this kind of thing until later, but some of the strongest and most repeated feedback I've been getting all has to do with so much reading being necessary to know what's going on. Now, you don't need to look at the log quite as much, but it still helps in some situations. I'd like to get away from having to use the log at all, if I can.

Finally, I decided to beef up the little info pane about your characters that you get in the dungeon. It now includes their title, and Ability Points, which were 'invisible' up 'till now.

Character info with Ability Point amount!

AP is often the reason Mages suddenly stop casting, or your Warrior stops fighting-- they're trying to use abilities that they can't anymore for some reason or another, usually due to lack of enough points. I'll be adding some visual cue or info log when that happens, to reduce the confusion of characters not doing things when it seems like they should.

There will be a third demo out in the near future with more bug fixes, and likely a bolstered UI. If you're really excited about this project, please share it with your friends!
