Malevolence: The Sword of Ahkranox is an indie game with the intent to recreate the amazing turn-based, first person RPGs from the golden age of PC gaming using modern game engine technology. Rich classics such as the Might & Magic series, Eye of the Beholder and the like have inspired this new title which, when finished will put its players into a literally infinite fantasy world filled with procedurally generated content. The Sword of Ahkranox isn't trying to compete with the larger, professionally developed RPG titles out there, but instead our aim is to fill a large gap that we believe has existed in game technology since the mid-nineties. It is definitely a must-have for all enthusiasts of the quintessential RPG. The game's procedural engine can generate an infinite number of weapons, items, spells, monsters, dungeons, cities, countryside and even dialogue, allowing the player to explore the game with no end and no reason to stop.

So we've been working on towns a bit lately, and I thought I'd show you where we're at with that!

Hello again!

First off, I want to do a GIANT thank you shout out to everyone who's helped out on the KickStarter page! It's only been one week and we've already surpassed HALF of our total goal! Thank you all so much!

So we've been working on towns a bit lately, and I thought I'd show you where we're at with that! If you follow us on Facebook you'll have already seen this image, but we've got some really cool town buildings thanks to our friends over at Arteria3D, which we've re-worked a bit for the game, and they assemble quite well into very fun-looking towns to explore!

They're looking absolutely amazing and they're really quite fun to explore! I've done up a very rough video showing them off a little bit. It's quite cool to wander around the towns, even if they're not yet textured or lit properly!

If you listen closely in that video you can also hear some of the incredible music that our composer Nicolas Lee has been writing for the towns! We love it!

Anyway, don't forget to share our KickStarter link around and go over to visit it. We've put up a few cool updates since we last mentioned it on here!

Also don't forget to check us out on all of the social networks!

Looking at that art book offer on kickstarter, do you guys have any concept art? I can't really find it anywhere. I mean the game looks good and all, but is the art book full of screenshots?

No, no, its chock full of concept art, 3D art, etc. We started this IndieDB page a fair way into the project, but you can still find a lot of it on our BlogSpot page! Swordofahkranox.blogspot.com.au

Correct! Malevolence started out as a card game, but we didn't have the money to get it published, so we decided to make a PC game of it to raise the publishing money. Once the PC game is finished we'll also be releasing the card game!

We tried to! We just couldn't get the money together lol it's quite expensive to produce a card game!

well, at least , if the game is successful (god know it will), you'll still be able to sell the card game under the "goodies" section ^_^
