An update from us to let you all know how things are going with the development of Lithic.
Firstly, we have been Greenlit which is absolutely fantastic news, and we want to say a big thank you to everyone that has supported us as we couldn't have done it without you. Please remember though that our Kickstarter is still active so if you still want to support us, please check it out!
On the development side of things, we're forging ahead at a rapid pace. Tom has just finished working on editor scripts which allow us to very quickly paint terrains based on their shape, add height noise, randomly paint in grass and change ground textures around placed trees – all at the touch of a button. This means that world building time has been sped up considerably and the relatively short time it took to build the tools means this was an incredibly worthy addition to Lithic.
Jon has just finished the Hu-Aan female's animation controller, we've recently decided to re-target our animations to Unity's humanoid rig which allows us to cut down on the total number of animations we need as we can share generic animations between races and then create unique animations where we feel they're needed to give races that special touch. This does mean that we can quickly get extra races ready using placeholder animations which means that you guys will likely see them sooner than we had originally planned.
Currently Jon is transposing the Hu-Aan female's controller onto the male, as we also recently decided to use separate male/female models instead of just one and swap gender with blend shapes. Once this is done I'll be looking at the interactable objects in the world – getting them ready for world building.
Tom is currently working on the AI, creating the last few scripts and bits of code needed to finish off a character's ability to interact with the world and sustain themselves.
As always any questions you have please feel free to tweet/forum us, thank you for reading and don't forget to check out our Kickstarter!
