Legacy is a rogue-like, procedurally generated, open world, character driven RPG. You play a character of your creation within the world until that unavoidable day comes in which he or she is no more, at this point you will create a new character, a descendant! This new character can be any race, or half race, that you have unlocked through romancing with previous characters, s/he will inherit certain traits of your previous characters as well as gaining the social status of being a child of your previous character. The world will change over this time as well, old friends will die, new enemies will arise, factions will war, the terrain will change, and the world in which your new character embraces may be but a shell of the world you once knew. Post news Report RSS Legacy - Art Style, HUD, Other Goodies...

Hey guys! We're still hard at work on getting our demo ready for our donors to test, and then for everyone to play :D ! Javier has been quite busy this past week between work and family but things are still going smoothly. We've also spent the last week getting our proposal and business plan tweaked (to hopefully perfection) and really hoping to get funding for the game with it!

Hey guys! We're still hard at work on getting our demo ready for our donors to test, and then for everyone to play :D ! Javier has been quite busy this past week between work and family but things are still going smoothly. We've also spent the last week getting our proposal and business plan tweaked (to hopefully perfection) and really hoping to get funding for the game with it!

Other than that, I've been essentially tweaking the art and getting things looking as nice as possible for the demo, as I always am :P . I've made some minor tweaks to animations, tweaks to normal maps, etc ,etc. But I've also added a 3D HUD! Since both Javier and I want a minimalist HUD but also realize the importance of a concrete health indicator in the genre I've tried to make sure that the HUD is not seriously distracting or detracts from the scene in any way. It's still being tweaked, and the placement is not final, and we will also have bars fade independently when they are not being used.

I've also been tweaking to set up the PPE in a way that isn't cliche and adds subtly to the art style, I was initially against using outlines, but after tweaking them, I am quite pleased with the results.
