Almost two weeks have passed since last update and today our team would like to show you our last progress. Mostly, we've worked on landscape and world generation. Hi, friends!

Almost two weeks have passed since last update and today our team would like to show you our last progress. Mostly, we've worked on landscape and world generation. We've improved our map, made some rivers with flow and random ruins generation. Also, i would like you tell you some details of our game-story and explain some principles of in-game-life and it's rules. But, first things first, right?)

MAP

As i said, we're still working on our landscape to make it as best as we can. For such goals as ours it's very important to have landscape than can give us the feel of freedom - if you see mountains in the distance, you can go there, climb and find something intresting.

Exploration is very important part of the game, especially in the very beginning, when continent is wild, unhabited by colonists and unexplored. Hope, that we'll make right feeling of walking around and finding some intresting stuff in the world.
As for rivers, week we've also made almost all of them. That was tough but final result is good, hope you'll also like it.

Exploring the world you can find different structures, that belongs to ancient civilizations, that lived here before - ruins, mines etc. So, let's talk about it.

RANDOM RUINS

Such structures like ruins are unique and being generated random by every new game. That means you won't see two similar ruins, each structuse has unique parameters. When you begin new game, it will generate all objects om tha map random every time - forests, objects of interest etc.

We want to make every game experience unique for you, and it concerns not only world generation, but every game aspect. Of course, player can find something intresting in ruins (weapons, materials etc.), but sometimes it can be very dangerous. Think twice before going there without good equipment, because it can cost you high price. Yep, hardcore and realism will make every journey unforgetable, i hope:)

STORY

Now, some facts about our story and such things. First of all - we dont have constant main story, that means, all quests and situations in the world are dynamic and random. Player arrives in this land with group of colonists, searching better life or adventures. Of course, first thing this group will do is building first colony, to have some save place. Player can stay there, helping people or walk away and build house (castle or whole town) far away. It's absolutely up to you, how to move on. In some time new colonists will arrive by sea and build their settlements, with own unique structure, architecture etc. So, in such way word evolves and lives.
Resources, rivers and other factors near by will affect NPC-lifes directly.

FINAL

So, that's it for today!
Write comments with your suggestions - your support gives us huge inspiration to move on and make our game better and better.
Bye and till next time!:)

a few questions

if the world is meant to develop from your first group of colonists how will population grow/replenishment be handled. new colonists arriving periodically as you said or will children be included

if children are the main method of population growth how will time scaling be handled
i.e. how long will children take to mature

also in previous news you said death is death, no revives and only one save so what happens if you die?
restart the whole game from scratch?
or maybe take over as your kid ?

Thanks, very intresting question, i'll try to answer it in details.

There WILL BE kids as possibility to grow pipulation. I'm still thinking, if they already be 18, or just teens. But no little babies for sure, becase we don't want to give some maniacs wide oppotunities in our game. Kids are not only oppotunity to grow population. Sometimes new ships with new people will arrive, and their arrival can change political and social situation dramatically.

About death: to not let player to crash PC after death, i'm thinking of continuing the game after it. There're 2 varians possble: continue the game as previous characters aid or start as new colonist, both varians are good i think.

The more you talk about your game, the more i want it !

I can't imagine a game with coherent and dynamic political and social situation... And restart as a new colonist could be so funny because the respawn can be random and you can spawn as a man in an other situation than your previous one with for example a new clan, a new village or a new profession...

So far so good !
