This is soldat's version of a star wars prequel.... except a prequel that kicks the original trilogy's ***! So happy with this game! I have only played it a couple days but I am already strongly considering buying it as its so much fun. Even better: EVERY CLASS IS FUN. Usually in these types of games, the builder is lame, but they made sure he was fun too. Also the knight can fly like Olaf from The Lost Vikings, and that's a beautiful tribute. I am very happy with this game. It's like I'm in eighth grade again, playing Soldat. Except I'm not, and it isn't soldat. But it's that same wonderful feeling.

NOTE: This is my opinion on the FREE version.
I was enticed into playing this by its Minecraft/Terraria multiplayer-like gameplay, with the awesome twist of deliberately using the terrain and your characters abilities to attack the enemy team and defend your player-built fortress.
All of the game mechanics work well, but the reason I don't give this game a perfect score is the massive gap between the casual and first-time players and the pros and veterans. The first groups mentioned can be frustrating to work with and often cost your team games for silly reasons, and on the other side of the spectrum, the latter are capable of gamebreaking feats of skill (like the infamous shield-bomb jump) and often happen to be friends on the same team capable of perfectly coordinating their efforts; kind of a non-issue since this is possible in almost every competitive multiplayer team game, anyway.
Oh, and the griefers... You know, those nasty kids who switch teams temporarily to utterly destroy your defenses and switch back to the opposing side to exploit the weakness they just created.
I write reviews to try to inspire some thought in potential buyers, not scare them away, so definitely pick this game up if these issues I've noticed don't phase you. The only reason I'm not buying it is because I'm not willing to take the time to learn an entirely new set of skills just for a video game; I would become more of a robot than a gamer if I tried to be good at this game, haha!

it's a nice concept, but the game's controls render it unplayable. i need to be able to select which block i want to destroy or place with precision, and that just doesn't happen.

Putting it in comparison to Terraria, KAG is a more polished multiplayer experience, it keeps things simple, graphics included, but where it outshines most other games is how intuitive it feels, the matches are heavily based on teamwork and no class is in any way "better" than the other and all of them are needed.
When you delve into it, you lose track of time and you simply have fun, I did not see a single fault with it so far.

Excellent all-around game! Sound and graphics are charming and fitting, gameplay is simple but engaging (and can get very competitive as you get better), and replay value is through the roof. Considering this is still in alpha, it easily deserves a 10/10!
