A free-roaming squad based RPG. Focusing on open-ended gameplay features rather than a linear story. Be a trader, a thief, a rebel, a mercenary, a business owner, a doctor, a bandit... the list goes on. Aid or oppose the various factions in the world while striving for the strength and wealth necessary to simply survive in the harsh desert. Purchase and upgrade your own buildings to use as safe fortified havens when things go bad, or use them to start up a business. Train your men up from puny victims to master warriors. Carry your wounded squad mates to safety and get them all home alive.
Enjoy Kenshi and many other great games on Desura.
Any plans of porting this to run natively on Linux?
Kenshi will just run on windows. If i remember well the plugins arent cross-platform.
So IN MY OPINION maybe a linux version will come but only after the game has been fully published on windows and even that is only wishfull thinking ;)
This game looks fantastic! Love samurai and love westerns, this is a brilliant combination, one thing though and I'm sure it has been asked many a time, say you get beaten up and are no where near a settlement, does that mean you have to wander for a massive amount of time just to get there, or will there be some kind of fast travel? Although personally if there is the same music as what is played in the trailer I would be quite happy watching my character walk all that way, make me imagine I would be in a Clint Eastwood Spaghetti western and a Akira Kurosawa movie combined. Keep up the good work!
Fast-travel is planned as a feature, but not like vehicles and such, more morrowind-style
eventhough a vehicles mod will probably come out at some point (the game is very mod-friendly)
The game looks pretty good, but i have a question how will combat go, will it be traditionaly turn based (Like baldurs gate 1/2 or fallout 1/2) or more like Kotor or Dragon age origins?
There's a free demo you can try as well.
Combat is in real time, but you can pause at any time to give your characters new orders.
Looks great
Looks extremly awesome, but its really bright, and no shadows.
right now dont look at graphics. The Dev said he will contract an artist when he has the funding for it (and a second developper for pathfinding and such)
Very interesting. I am gonna keep an eye on this. Has very good potential.
Awesome to see this under alphafunding! Now to wait till i have glorious money to throw at this.
Everyone bear in mind this is still an alpha, and will be for a very long time.
i own this game and all i can say is, LOVE IT !!!!!.
also already been lots of updates,
theres a fair few mods already out eg. zombie mod :)
the combat is awesome even this early in its making.
Will certainly buy it even though it isn't worth with just the version you present but to support you anyways in hoping of showing much more playable version.
Dled the demo, it installs PhysX, then when I start the game it crashes saying PhysX is not installed... I quit there sorry !
