Isomer is an isometric realtime strategy game inspired by classic XCOM and other more recent sandbox style games. It's open ended, designed to be played in a variety of ways with world exploration, survival, crafting and strategy all blended together. Build up your forces by trading resources for reinforcements with passing resupply ships and mutate your troops into specialist units from scouts to warriors. Enemy forces attack periodically in an attempt to destroy your bases and facilities. How long can you survive? The worlds are procedurally generated, large and teeming with hostile forces, enemy bases, deep catacombs and life. On some worlds, extensive enemy facilities have sprung up and the inhabitants don't take too kindly to new arrivals attempting to poach resources from their backyard. Mined resources can be used to build structures, traps or fortifications as well as traded periodically.

It's that time of year again everyone! I've no idea where 2013 went but it has been an epic one for Isomer development. This year we went from having a prototype that was more of a world editor than a functional game to a full alpha that can be bought and played by anyone!

Thank you to everyone who has helped fund our development so far either through our buying Isomer on our store or via Desura (yes, Isomer is available on Desura now!) and thank you to the great group of guys on the forums (<3).

2014 is almost upon is and there is a lot to be excited about. At least the next four major update builds have been fully packed with features (and I dare say a number more builds will be added after that!). Whatever happens next year I'm really excited by all the content that will be going in and seeing how Isomer continues to evolve.

Until then, the Isomer team are going to eat, sleep, rest and be merry! I hope you all have an amazing holiday, see you in 2014!
