Since launching the Steam Greenlight campaign for Intelligent Design I've been thinking of ways to say thank-you to people who decide to pay more than zero for the game. After a lot of thought I came up with the idea of having a premium version. This version is still pay what you want but the minimum price is $5, currently on sale with 60% off.
The core game will always be free and is still available to download. The premium version has a very simple addition, a button in the system menu to unlock all the genetic engineering abilities without researching them. This is a feature which I think hardcore players will really enjoy, it gives you the ability to start designing your ecosystem with full power right from the start.
As I've said previously in my mind the game is finished, so if you haven't played it before download the free version and try that first before you decide to buy the premium version. I'm happy with the current set of features, the game is meant to be a bare bones experience for you to experiment with, but this might not be what you enjoy. The premium edition just makes it a bit easier to do that experimentation.
