INT is a roguelike Sci-Fi RPG with a heavy focus on exploration, dungeon crawling, character customization and story, brought to you by indie enthusiasts. The focus is on the character’s journey through a war-torn world through randomized and pre-set levels with fast-paced combat against hordes of enemies. The player must accomplish quests like a traditional RPG, complete objectives, and meet crew members which will aid in survival. Throughout the game you can side and complete missions through criminal cartels, and the two major combatants, the UCE and ACP, of the Interstellar Civil War.

Welcome rogues and sharpshooters to this week’s update.

As promised, we have some more animation for you guys in this week’s State of Starboard games. We’ll also be taking a look at the progress on the Basement level as we push towards the next demo. Are you ready to explore your crumbling building?

With that, let’s get into the action.

The basement – it’s a pretty grim place. But it’s also a gorgeously painted place, thanks to the skills of Matt, and Josh’s hard work on the environmental assets. The entire INT team looks forward to days Matt’s working on the new levels, because we get a steady stream of ‘hype fuel’ as he shares the project with us. We get to see the work of the art team come together.

We certainly can’t wait to playtest the new environments, and we want to share that hype with you. Check out the progress in the gallery below:

Before we showcase some more of the work from the Animation Team, I have a quick announcement. Last month, due to a variety of factors, we didn’t have a Rogue Space episode for you guys. We will be back in full force at the end of the month with an INT-erview (I’m so sorry) with Joe Thom about sound design. We also talk about games and our individual summers.

Now, the good stuff.

This week, we’re featuring some of the weapon animations, both shouldering guns and shooting them, as well as throwing grenades. Mark and the animation team have been working on these since RavenCon to smooth out the encounter animations. These are small movements players don’t tend to focus on, but they have to look right in order for combat to flow properly.

We can’t wait for you to see these in motion in the game, but for now, we’ll enjoy Sire Grey’s continuous loop.

Can’t get on a planet without a shuttle. This week, we take a look at Art Ship, a space shuttle manufacturer that got its start building fighter jets.

Once a military contractor supplying fighter jets to the UN, Art Ship transitioned into space shuttle production after World War III. It now focuses on small, personal ships for interstellar travel between planets. Other corporations have moved into larger vessels, allowing Art Ship to fill a small but important niche in interstellar travel.

That’s it from us this week. We’ll be keeping you up-to date on our development progress and other fun stuff over on our on Facebook and Twitter.

Feedback? Send it to us on social media. We’d love to hear from you.
