Icebound is a dark fantasy, mystery visual novel that takes place in a world locked in the depths of an ice age. It features a non-linear plot with story-affecting decisions, optional romance, and puzzle game elements. Its story aims to be witty, mature, and intriguing until the bitter end.
On the harsh and unforgiving world of Permia, two races, human and feran, share a fragile peace. In the north resides the Holy Empire, whose machinery and society both run like clockwork, and in the south, the Council, a powerful alliance of tribes who have mastered the spiritual arts. In this world, there exists the ability to manipulate the forces of nature - only those who can master their training and tame a Familiar can receive the title of "alchemist".
A wandering alchemist named Dougal winds up in the isolated town of Isenbarr with his Familiar, Isaac, hoping to earn some much-needed money. But when he stumbles across a potentially lucrative bounty offered by a master alchemist and his clockwork servant, he must match wits with three eccentric residents to obtain the legendary Philosopher's Stone.
In his search for a deadly monster, Dougal discovers truths that might be better off hidden, and a striking secret agent whose mission is all but clear. Could Agent Lamia really need Dougal's help, or is she after the Philosopher's Stone as well...?

The demo for Icebound has been released to the general public, along with its new website. A forum has also been created for Icebound and other Fastermind games. Feedback can be left at the forum, and for support you can also email support-at-fastermind.net!
The full game will be released soon, but check out some cool new environmental art in the World section showcasing the rest of the Icebound world!

@konjak F2P ONLY works when everyone gets 100% of the gameplay and any purchases are cosmetic.

@xiakha I just rewatched it and one of them did, I think. Could be wrong.

@xiakha They probably wanted to get rid of the "fighting other runners" idea and go back to basics, hence the reboot.

@xiakha Yeah, though Battlefield 3 had arguably worse enviro-destruction than Bad Company 2 with the Frostbite 2 engine.

@xiakha The original led right into a sequel, so I'm not sure what "extra" they got from rebooting the story.

@xiakha Rebooting after one game.. wut? I guess they want a do-over?

I've always wanted an english visual novel, so best of luck.
Great art and the story seems original rather than the generic visual novel stuff. definitely tracking
