I Shall Remain (ISR) makes you responsible for the life of one US Marine who has awoken in a Zombie infested world. Its up to you to lead him on a path that will allow him to survive, fight back and become a leader of men. ISR has superb artwork, music and storytelling that is reflective of the high quality standard that its creators live for. Its creators have challenged themselves to leave a lasting impression on the independent gaming industry with a serious, entertaining and cost-effective game dedicated to a group of young people who created a culture. ISR will be released in episodes. Each episode of the game will build on previously installed content and will have new features, content and will tell a new part of the game story. The game's prologue will be released in January 2011 for free and will include a tutorial so players can have a running start when the first game episode is released.

RSS Feed Developer Journal - October 28-31, 2012

In this post, we cover what ISR developer's talked about during their Sunday developer conference.

Hello gamers!

So every Sunday at noon (Pacific Standard Time) we have a developer meeting. These meetings drive
our development and is how I communicate our direction to ISR's software team across an ocean via web conference. ISR's development is really unique, it's a testiment to what this new interconnected world is really capable of achieving. I'm just a regular guy with an idea whose ready to take on a risk and I'm connected to my wonderful team - Eugen, Florin, Virgil and Liviu who have turned my idea into something real - which is I Shall Remain.

This week we talked about how gamer feedback on our forum (www.ishallremain.com/forum) has been the best thing that's happened for ISR. The feedback gamers have provided has been so great, comprehensive and pragmatic that it's blown us away. Thank you.

We also talked about financing plans. As with most indie devs, we're finacially strapped but we're still making it happen. We will start putting our content together for kickstarter in 1 month, or if the user base on our insider's forum reaches 100- whichever happens first. I'm not sure yet what the right finance goal should be, I need to do more research into this. I imagine a number between $20k and 50k. It's easy to put the wrong number and miss your goal and lose everything. When everythings at stake, it makes you nervous. But the excitement, the fulfillment, the support from fans makes you love what you do.

We have loved what's happened so far on the forums, and we're interested in growing and bringing in more players. If you know of anyone you'd like to bring in to become an insider let us know!

Next, we're going to be making some sick content these next couple of weeks. Get ready for Vietnam-era weapons! These weapons will first be available to insider's through our insider's forum, after they've been all tested and given the greenlight they will be included in our next Desura release.

Lastly, feel free to post here any special item requests. Canned bacon, super soakers, new zombie concepts! We'd love to know what you're interested in!

Episode 1 Development updates, Oct 28. Small batch this week, more to come.

-Added confirmation window before starting any game mode.
-Small Changes in prologue quests.
-Show local map for Prologue and Survival game modes.
-Worked on minimaps.
-Made separate teammate templates for the prologue, right now we have only soldiers. Prologue is all soldiers, Episode 1 teammates are civilians.
-Started work on bugs and recommendations posted in the forum.

Thank you all, keep up the good fight!
Jake

PS - The standalone version of ISR's Episode 1 Missions is now available for download. It is the tester version of the campaigns, please be gentle it's definately got its bugs! I haven't uploaded a file for the regular-style downloads through the Desura App. I will do that this week.

Well if we are going for requests...

How about an acid filled squirt gun. Take that Mr. Zombie!
