I Can't Escape: Darkness is a quicksand trap for the senses - the more you listen and look for clues, the deeper you fall into a damp, living dungeon. Plunge into the depths and scrape together whatever tools you can find, then try to escape one of the most diabolical puzzles of all time!

Descending is easy. It’s heading back up that’s tough.

Posted by on

The first floor is a nice place to be. It’s near the exit, with lots of light streaming down from outside, and even the enemies are relatively harmless. However, there is no way to avoid descending deeper - where the dungeon gets darker, crueler and less forgiving. But even should you descend to the deepest level and brave all the terrors within to find the exit key, you’ll still have to make your way back up to the top. I hope you saved a light source for the return journey.

First Floor

Our previous news post gave some tips about how to survive, but once you’re deep in the dungeon, surrounded by crypts, veins and status effects you don’t understand, limping back to the stairs heading up is quite a challenge. Along that theme, here's this week's gameplay sneak!

Development Updates

The first round of beta testing is complete, and one - only one - of our beta testers was able to escape! Development is moving along - most of the bugs are worked out now, and I’m tweaking and adding some last minute rooms and features based on beta feedback. I also just finished porting the game to Linux, and a Mac port will come soon. Look forward to the finished game!
