An accurate simulation of "The Hunger Games". You're a tribute, fighting intelligent AI in a "battle royal" to be the last person standing. Inspired by the novels by Suzanne Collins and the movies by Lionsgate Films. This is a turned based combat game in 1st person perspective, with Roguelike elements. The randomly generated arenas feature a central "Cornucopia" filled with melee and ranged weapons along with food and other gear, surrounded by wilderness in which one can hide or forage. You may form alliances with the other tributes, and backstab or be backstabbed by your allies. In the preview image (from a special "Audience" standpoint) you can see the semicircle of 24 tributes on their platforms, the central golden Cornucopia, gear in front of and within it, and surrounding landscape containing mountains and waterways. "May the odds be ever in your favor!" :)

I have 2 things to say 1: are you showing something or not and 2: I see you can ally tributes better

This video shows several types of tribute alliances. The Game starts with Districts 1, 2, and 4 all allied (the "Careers" as in the books). At 0:27 I get myself added to the Career alliance, after I give the D2 Girl member of it a nice weapon. At 2:46 I break the alliance with the D4 Boy, and at 4:43 I break with the D2 Girl. At 8:22 I fight the D2 Boy, who I'm now no longer allied with after I attacked his District partner. :)

Looks nice, the tribute relationship aspect was always one of my favorite parts of the game.

Yes, AI controlled opponents allowing single player games, is what makes this game different from say deathmatch Minecraft. :)

One thing that really bugged me about combat with AI is that the AI feel like it's a better idea to pick up the weapons you just threw at them, instead of reacting back. This is perfectly showcased at the end, when the D12 boy picks up your trident, preventing any chance of throwing back his only knife, or running away.

I hope the AI gets a revamp on 3.1, they don't do so well in combat :s

AI considers several options for any turn, which are each given different priorities. It turns out that AI prioritizes picking up 5+ damage weapons like Tridents over attacking, because they're so good and have such potential. That's why when I threw the Trident the D12 Boy picked it up, but when I threw the Knife next turn he attacked me back. The current behavior can be used as a tactic: Initiate combat by throwing a Trident (assuming you have Tridents to spare, like I did) and you can often get an extra attack in. :)

By the way, I have made the AI a bit smarter for 3.1, so it prioritizes weapons that are significantly better than what it already has, instead of just good weapons period. :) For example, if a strong AI has a bunch of Axes, and you throw a Trident at it, then the AI will still throw an Axe at you. However, if the AI only has a Club, then it will prioritize picking up the Trident and upgrading its offense (even if that risks you getting in an extra attack).

Is there a way to download this on a chromebook?

The Hunger Games Simulation is (at least for now) Windows only. A Chromebook runs Chrome OS which is based on Linux, so no I don't think this will run on a Chromebook.

Description

Let's play the Hunger Games Simulation version 3.0! As the District 10 Boy, I ally with the "Career" pack at the beginning, grab the best gear from the Cornucopia, stab my allies in the back, receive a bunch of sponsor gifts, and finally hunt down the remaining tributes to become victor. :)
