You are Roku, the Demon Girl. A mysterious oni named Sam releases you from your icy bondage in the lowest level of Hell and helps you to escape by telling you were to go next and how to break through barriers to the upper levels. There are 9 Circles in Hell and therefore 9 distinct areas which Roku must race through to rise from the Underworld and once again walk the Earth. Each area will contain 4 stages, amounting to 36 levels of high speed action. Race against the clock, running down demons and monsters in your path, grabbing powerful, speed-increasing tokens, and avoiding all of the traps the Dark Lord and his minions put in your way. It is within your power to feel the warmth of the living world once again, but you must go NOW.

Hello!

Thank you everyone for being so patient! As of yesterday, the very first demo for History of the Demon Girl has been released! I'm incredibly excited for all of you to play it and once you have - if you like it - please get the word out as much as you can. Do Let's Plays, write reviews, take screenshots of stuff you like, go nuts! So far, there's been one Let's Play and I watched it a few times just because it's so much fun for me to see this stuff happening for a game I created. Thank you.

Some quick notes: there initially was a problem with the Mac version. It seems like a couple of people may have got to it before I fixed the problem. Rest assured, that issue has been addressed now and the game should run. Basically, if it wasn't working before, please try downloading it now - Thanks! I don't typically operate on Macs so exporting from flash for that platform is always a little tricky. That said, I wrote down the steps that I took this time and that problem should not repeat itself.

Other than that, the demo is slightly jittery, but it's all there and it works and I hope that you enjoy it. Just for fun, here are a couple more screenshots to get you excited:

Great artstyle, especially for a game made in Flash. I find a lot of games suffer "Flash syndrome" in which by looking at them you can tell they were created in Flash, but this doesn't suffer that at all so great work!

That's very flattering of you to say. It was definitely a goal of mine to give the game a unique style that was more reminiscent of early Capcom than more modern Flash games. Things like Little Nemo: The Dream Master and Mega Man III were the games that I played for HOURS as a kid, so this is a lovely compliment to receive. Thank you!
