Himeko Sutori is a tactical JRPG for Windows and Mac that puts the player in control of an army of over 100 unique named units that you can customize, equip, and level-up as you uncover the schemes and betrayals that have thrown the kingdom into civil war. Himeko Sutori will also come with all the assets and code needed for players to build their own campaigns using the editor.

With the world map integrated with the rest of the game--going from world-map exploration to combat, back to the world map, and back to town for supplies--Himeko Sutori is now pretty much feature-complete. We still have some bugs to fix and some smaller features to add, but we're now moving on with making a test campaign.

You can see the latest developments in Himeko Sutori up on YouTube:

There, we show you the world map where your whole army travels with you. You can see enemy armies on the map, giving you a quick and easy way to estimate enemy strength, and then decide whether or not to attack.

Here we pick a fight with a bunch of slimes.

The first step in combat is placing your troops.

Himeko Sutori can load about 5,000 unique characters on modest hardware. It took some serious optimization, but it was necessary to give you the level of polish we wanted. Each character in your army and each character in every enemy army is unique. Even the slimes have names... pulled from this list:

Yes, every slime in the game gets a name.

We're planning on adding a lot more to the game, but for now we're going to focus on getting a playable test campaign out, hopefully very soon. It feels good to be this far along.
