  • Summary

A 3rd person mission round based coop survival multi player game featuring in the Warhammer 40k universe. You play as a member of a tactical marine squad sent to perform various missions in a star system that has just turned renegade against the emperor.

The game's purpose is to as accurately as possible try to simulate how a deployment mission might look like, to achieve as much feeling as possible without compromising too much of game play.

Recommended amount players between 6 - 11

  • The Goal:

Targeting audience in early teens to middle age. Reaching anyone fond of the WH40K universe or establish an interest in the WH40k Universe for those who don't know what it is. The main goal is to create a thrilling experience worthy the world its based on.

  • Game play Experience:

The game will focus on a thrilling and adrenalin filled experience based on the sense of self-preservation and teamplay. The game starts with all players choosing loadout/classes for what they want to play that round. All players are Tactical marines per default, but one player will be randomly selected to play as the master of renegade forces. The Space marines will be assigned a mission specific for that particular level and have to preform the mission and make it back to the extraction point in one piece without dying once. If a Tactical marine falls in battle, the player will be swapped over to the Renegade team and increase the difficulty level for the remaining marines.

The Renegade team which starts of with only one player and have endless amounts of AI reinforcements that can be called in to the level at any time, buying units with points earned over time. And also have endless amount of lives and several classes to choose from at each re-spawn.

Having the Renegade forces gaining more points over time for each tactical marine killed, also unlocks new units for each ladder of percentage of the marine squad slain (ex. 25% - 50% - 90%)

The difficulty curve sky rocket with each loss of a team mate, forcing the players to help each other like real brothers in arms. You are not mistaken when you think "this is crazy" It is supposed to be extremely difficult and it is a real achievement to win as a tactical marine, after all, the odds are against you.

Lots have happend this past year, when i started this mod, i had big plans and ideas, and after being shot down by the GW legal department it really bursted my bubble. And i was to commit the models to the UT40k Team, however the communication somewhat lacked and my computer burst in to flames, and after a while when i managed to get a new one i was too tired to bother picking up the pieces, and thus no real progress was made in that area.

But whenever i get spare time i start to glance back on the fact that i want a good warhammer non-mainstream-factory-clone game. And i want one, even IF the GW steals it from under my nose.

I have thoughts on picking up and polish my old models with my new art skills and create a miniature online multiplayer game.
something like warefare for unreal3... but in warhammer mode. Something very simple.

Any ideas?

I have a job so my time is limited but i will need all the help i can get on this one, UDK engine experts and coders, level designers animators etc.

I can provide the art myself as i am now a proffessional at it. But i really need someone that knows his way around the engine.

I only just heard the sad news (which is more than a little late, I know), and I'm just baffled by the harsh decision of GW. I understand that the Warhammer IP is very valuable to them, but I can't see how a free fan-game can harm their sales in any way. I even think it could serve to attract even more people to other Warhammer games. And when your entire community is behind a game, I don't understand how you can make such a decision...

I suppose it was a little too similar to the upcoming Relic-developed game "Warhammer 40K: Space Marine", but the footage and info we've received so far is not the kind of stuff that gets me all excited.

Anyways, best of luck to you guys. I hope this isn't going to be an incident that prompts you to abandon your dreams or anything like that. Because that would be the saddest part of this entire tale.

You guys shouldn't be all that surprised this happened. after all a actual game is in the works very similar to this (and its GW.. duh ). "Warhammer Space Marines" im sure some of you have heard of it.
dont get me wrong i almost ****** myself when i saw this in the list of UDK mods an then only for me to sit quietly in a pool of warm **** knowing this will never release ( knowing GW ) it made me VERY sad. GW needs to get a grip or actually let go of its grip on its prized possession i think this is such ********, finally a 40K mod that shows immense promise and that would actually release and not die out.. and of course copy right stops it in its tracks.

i wish you guys the best of luck with GW legal department and i hope you can manage to arrange something with them.

You have no idea how WRONG you are. You cant compare these games, because of both are third person shooters dont mean they look like each other. Well these models wont go to waste either,Tias is now working with W40K Chosen mod...
