If you’ve been following Havencall for a while, you may have guessed that this announcement was on it’s way. Development has been slow - at best - the past year or so. Havencall is a visually complex game and requires extensive work by artists and animators. Today we’re sadly announcing that the project has been put on indefinite hold until we can raise enough funds to hire more artists/animators. While Havencall has certainly not been assigned to the death-vault of games-that-will-never-be-finished, it is unclear how long it will take for us to resume development on it.
Our small independent studio, Fancy Fish Games, will be releasing two other games this year, I Can’t Escape: Darkness (an ambient horror adventure game - coming this Fall), and ADventure Lib (a humor, parody adventure game - releasing August 4th!). We also have several promising new game designs on our development horizon. And, we are also considering setting up an ongoing donation fund to help us start working toward our funding goals. So depending on how well these projects do, Havencall will hopefully be up and running again sooner rather than later!
