Grabbles is a chaotic, fast paced combat platformer with a twist. Each grabble is equipped with two sticky appendages that they depend on to survive. A steady hand and quick reflexes will determine your fate in the local and online multiplayer arenas.

PAX East

We're getting back into the swing of things after the 24hr drive back from PAX East. We had an amazing time and learned a lot, but most importantly a ton of people got to experience Grabbles! The responses we got were overwhelmingly positive, and we had a few younger players that really couldn't get enough.

The team at PAX East

We're working on putting together a post-mortem now with perspectives from each team member, but for now I'll just say that everything went better than we could have hoped, and we are exhausted.

Final demo released!

We also just released the final version of our demo both here on IndieDB and on a whole bunch of free game sites like Newgrounds and Kongregate. We've already had over 100 new players complete at least one level since we put the demo out last night, with most players playing each level multiple times in order to earn stars and unlock the bonus levels. The demo includes a new boss battle that makes a great conclusion to the campaign mode and shows off some of the more dynamic gameplay that we have in the works for the finished game.

New level art

We had a bit of a challenge to overcome to get Grabbles onto the free-to-play sites because they tend to have a size limit of around 20mb. Leading up to PAX East the demo had exploded to about 135mb with all the new art and sound assets, so it took us a bit of work to get that back down to something more reasonable. Some image quality did have to be sacrificed though so if you want the full experience you should play using one of the downloadable builds here or on our website at www.grabblesgame.com

New Trailer

Our media guy Brent Walker has put together a new trailer for the game as well. It's a huge improvement over the old one, mostly because we actually have some art in the game now to show, but also because he worked closely with us to set up shots and make sure we had all of the in game footage we needed.

We actually had one player comment that the trailer made the game look more fun that it is, which we think is some high praise for Brent's work (even if it does sting a little)

Kickstarter and Greenlight

We have barely scratched the surface of what we would like to do with Grabbles. We have a deep and rewarding story line planned for the campaign that is only hinted at in the demo, as well as a whole host of unique physics-based creatures to populate the levels and help or hinder the player. There are also several multiplayer modes that we are still working on perfecting, including some really fun co-op levels that require players to work together to reach the goal and soccer levels where teams compete to get a ball into each other's goals.

But! We need your help to make it all happen. So far we have been entirely self funded, but the treasury is running dry and we will need to pay licensing fees and artists to complete the final game and get it on the consoles.

Please check out the kickstarter and make a donation if you can. Every little bit helps, and we have reward tiers down to $1 so no matter how little you give you'll get something in return.

We're also now on Steam Greenlight so if you've got a steam account we would really appreciate a "yes" vote there as well so that we can get onto Steam and get Grabbles to a wider audience.

Thanks for reading and for being a part of Grabbles. Happy Grabbling!

Thanks! We have a story planned out but we were unable to implement it in time for PAX East. Getting the story across without walls of text is a fun challenge.
