We would like to give people the knowledge on how to create high-quality textures for 3D models. In this movie we are using, both Unity and Photoshop. This does not change the fact that it really can do the operations on each engine. It has been shown you process which lasted for about 4 hours. He was repeatedly accelerated to not bore the recipient and show the whole process. In the video you'll see what techniques used by experienced artists in the gaming industry, as part of our team. You'll see how to care for the seemingly insignificant details affects the appearance of the model.
If the diffusion map is ready as you see, the next step is - normalmap.
Here we present to you a video of the creation of normal maps. As you can see the process is similar to creating diffusion map. We operate here in texture, while controlling the work of the lighting that is in the game. It is highly recommended because it is easy to catch errors and make corrections
We also encourage other indie artists to share their experience with those who need it sometimes.
I can speak for my team when I say, that we would undoubtedly love to create video tutorials or 'share our experience'. The down-side is, videos take time to record, edit, render which is wasted development time in my opinion. However if this was done in 'free time', then there isn't any harm.
Thanks for your share though. Good luck!
It was made during creating game process. So we lost no time at all ;) Maybe an hour to speed up and cut the video.
Glad you like it!
I loved these videos during the Kickstarter. Hope you can create some more.
