Sorry I haven't seen the comment till now. Thankyou for making the video. It seems you were having trouble because you were using a keyboard rather than an xbox 360 controller, it is much smoother with a pad because you can be more explicit with the steering. Even I struggle with the keyboard and ive done a thousand laps xD.
The orbs in the track were energy crystals, you pick them up when you deplete energy using the booster, which is on the space bar on keyboard. Then you activate a cruise mode when you hit a certain threshold of speed so you don't have to throttle anymore, it becomes about hitting the boostpads. You must also utilize the airbrake, it will give you better steering angle round tighter corners, its easier to execute on a control pad. The idea is that when you are braking and turning you can hit airbrake button (right shift) and you will turn sharper.
Maybe I should of added a tutorial system, I might upload a hotlap video soon. Its a shame because its really fun after a bit of practice.
