We are currently deciding if we will continue with unity or move all development to Unreal.

Welcome to Genetica

Genetica is fundamentally a strategy built off a living evolving world. All actions will have consequences on the life of species of a cell.
Each cell is generated on the machine, no two cells will look alike or act alike. The game will ship with no pre built animations or models. The world, cells, AI, and environment will both be generated and evolve just like the players ability to evolve. The development of the cells focuses on two things, randomly generated perlin noise as well as generated 2D textures, this is how we can achieve a procedural world and cause of actions in an environment.

There will be no pre rendered images or animations. The entire game is built from primitive objects with applied forces and custom shaders. Currently there are two forms of cells, the player cells that are generating random shaders as well as AI cells, and an ebola type strand that acts as flagella for both cells and species of microbes that would become such a thing.

There are many visual parameters a cell can go through but that is not the entire story behind this game, the main game play element is the users ability to attach themselves to a evolving system and watch something being created and surviving just as any organism in the real world would have to.

Engines engines engines...

News

While this is amazing for everyone who want's to create their own games and content it puts us in a pickle for deciding what engine to continue to develop for. Development of Genetica has been on the Unity engine, but we may make the switch. So currently we are experimenting in Unreal 4 to see if we should move development over.
