Extinct is a hardcore [no-zombies] survival game, where the player has the task to survive the harsh environment. Craft your tools, build your shelters, hunt your food or plant your crops, you can feel the thrill of dying or not of starvation, hypothermia, or the hunt for water in a desert.

Update Patch 0.0.13
Patch 0.0.13 was deployed, this patch highligth would be the FPS view, when you zoom in past a treshhold you will be put into FPS mode, if you zoom out again the camera will be changed to 3rd person again, i was getting alot of feedback regarding picking up items from the ground, since you need to be close to them to pick them up the character made it almost impossible to do so, now you can use 'e' to pickup items and theres also a visual text telling you can do so.
Another step into survivability
Raw meat was added, and also coocked meat (nham, nham) you can now right click the fireplaces and cook your meat, dropped from animals. The ingame days ware also extended, now a ingame day takes twice the time to pass. I also added the two missing part from the grass set (shoes and pants) although there are no ingame models yet, but you can still craft/equip them.
Wy so short
Last week i have spent most of the time doing PR stuff, and that took alot of time from development most of the new features added was after the stream event, if by any chance you missed the event and you want to see extinct being played on stream for the first time you can do so @ Twitch .

help me, An error occurred when pressing start game on the launcher error is = the specified executable is not a valid application is a single platform.
I downloaded and tested, the premise of the game is great! survive in middle of the wild, crafting items.. Like the procedural map generation and I was impressed by the character creation.
Day/night transition, weather change... love it. At night, with a torch roaming around...
The auto patcher looks good and is a neat feature to update the game without downloading the full client again.
I understand it's an alpha, but to take into consideration:
- Impossible to play at max settings
- a bug, with the wooden fruit picker, when next to a tree pressing e, doesnt pick any fruit and it adds another wooden fruit picker to inventory
- the textures on the character didn't function properly during gameplay
- Movinmg around it's ok, buy trying to stop to pick something is uncomfortable.
- No way to rotate camera while dragging mouse button? you should add it
- the install software didn't create automatically a new folder, and just restart from the begining
