Exogensis - Perils of Rebirth- is an adventure game/visual novel hybrid which puts together the point-and-click gameplay of adventure games with the heavy focus on storytelling found in visual novels. It's 2069. Yudai Sayashi’s ragtag club of “treasure hunters” (referred to as looters by those who know them), Durchhalten, was closer to real treasure than they’ve ever been. Overly eager, Yu’s sister Miho ran carelessly towards the vault and triggered a deadly trap that proved to be fatal. Two years later, Yu comes across a startling discovery. The mythical Noah’s Ark, borne of legend by those who believe the old world can be restored, turns out to be a real thing. With the help of genius kid Toshio, Yu learns about the existence of the Lazarus Protocol inside the Ark – a system that can recreate anything from the past – a machination developed during the time when humanity’s survival was uncertain. Using the Ark, Yu believes Miho can be brought back to life.

Hi everyone! This is a very late first post on IndieDB considering that we're on our 9th update on Kickstarter, so let me give you an introduction.

Exogenesis ~Perils of Rebirth~ is a post-apocalyptic adventure/visual novel hybrid inspired by Ace Attorney and Zero Escape games. It combines the point-and-click gameplay of adventure games with the heavy focus on storytelling found in visual novels.

Set in post-apocalyptic Japan, the story of Exogenesis is about former wasteland treasure hunter Yu Sayashi who's on a quest to revive his dead sister.

We've reached 45% of our $32,000 goal in 10 days, and also got greenlit on Steam in 7 days.

In this post, we want to announce that voice talent/casting director Amber Lee Connors (Dust: An Elysian Tail, Heroes of Newerth) is joining us to provide the voice acting for the game. Together with her is none other than TeamFourStar!

They've offered us an unbelievable pay-what-you-want deal, but we still want to compensate them fairly, so we're shooting for a stretch goal to serve that purpose.

Oh, and we also just revealed a stretch goal that will allow us to port the game from Ren'Py to Unity, meaning we'd be able to launch on Vita, iOS and Android on top of the original PC, Mac and Linux.

Please check us out on Kickstarter where you can find a beefy demo and a few other cool stuff, like a shout-out from the Zero Escape creator Kotaro Uchikoshi himself.

See you there!
