A video update! My goodness! We've got some work-in-progress footage and (very professional) VO from Marcin on the topic of our updated construction mechanic in Eden Star, now in delicious Unreal 4 glory.

Hello again!

For those of you who have played or seen videos from our UE3 demo, you will have seen our prototype construction mode where you can rapidly materialise destructible blocks using your RMD tool. We've been working lately on improving the construction system in Unreal 4, with some awesome results!

Our Technical Artist, designer, Unreal Prototype Master, Brother of the Night's Watch , and Guardian of the Cube, Marcin... Has put together this video to show you how it's looking now, and talks about how construction will work in Eden Star. Check out the Video Below!

Feast your eyeballs on this.

Would love to see an update for the demo we have had since 2013...when can we expect the alpha?

Hey Shakes - did you purchase the Tech Demo? If so, you'll be getting an email this week coming to inform you of progress, a release date update and access to our roadmap :)

The tech demo is a proof of concept for the complete re-build within UE4 and I'm VERY happy to say that it's looking to be a great decision to move to the new engine. The video above is actually a few months old now and we're looking forward to showing you what comes next, we're just really wary of showing too much too soon as we want to deliver the best experience that we can whilst also delivering a true "early access" version ASAP.

There's still work to do but the main thing I can confirm, is that we're more likely to let you know if there are any major issues that will hold us up, rather than shouting about progress at this stage, simply because we want to focus as much time as possible to get the first "minimum viable" build to you, and make a worthy reveal!

Thanks again for your support!

Hey, congrats to the demo, its very cool :)
one question, will the world be limitless like minecraft or several seperated maps?

Thanks very much!

Because our world has much more content and detail than minecraft, and is not yet created procedurally, out world is large, but not unlimited because our level designers have to set most of it up by hand.

However, we're aiming to expand it as we go and trying to avoid loading times as much as possible!
