The Dual Universe is a gigantic multi-planet world where players are free to invent their collective destiny: civilizations will rise and fall, player-driven events will shape the course of History, because everything you do matters in a persistent single-shard universe. Unreal Engine
We use Unreal Engine 4, delivering some of the most beautiful and immersive environments ever seen in a MMO.

Oculus Rift
With a gameplay in "First Person" view mode, Dual Universe is designed to take advantage of the Occulus Rift possibilities.

In-game editable content
Players are free to build gigantic cities, space ships or orbital stations. Based on a voxel technology, the world is completely editable.

Scriptable ships & constructs
You can script any ship (with LUA) to redefine how you control it, from navigation to weapon systems. You can even script your own AI to assist you.

Emergent political systems
Players are free to design their own political system based on a game-enforced contract system. Be a dictator or foster the emergence of democracy, this is your choice.

Player-driven economy
The economy of Dual is very realistic. Initiate a market exchange, harvest resources & sell them, start an industrial empire, do marketing and logistics, create a bank or your own company.

26th of April, 2027 - The James Webb Space Telescope is pointing towards the distant Pegasus constellation to observe a critical cosmic event which focuses the attention of the scientific community: the explosion of HR 8210 IK Pegasi, a type II supernova. As a result, a neutron star is born. This massive celestial body launched at incredible speed in space generates such monstruous gravitational well that it can swallow an entire planet system. The bad news? It's heading towards the Earth. Scientists rapidly calculate the estimated time of arrival for the space monster around 2537, approximately 500 years in the future. Something has to be done, but nothing can stop the neutron star in its path. We need to leave our home planet to survive.

Huge spaceships - Arkships - are built and launched into space, taking aboard millions of humans, to start a new life in distant habitable new worlds. But the journey is planned to last millenias: for this reason, Humanity will be put into cryosleep until the ships reach their destination. You are one of these new colons just waking up, your brain still confused by cryolag, as the ship just hammered itself in the ground of the promised new planet. You have now a civilization to rebuild...
