Dominions II: The Ascension Wars is a turn based fantasy game in which you take the role of a pretending god. Each pretender is Lord and Master of one of seventeen cultures, each with its own individual strengths and weaknesses. With the aid of soldiers, mages and monsters you will conquer the lands of your neighbors in a struggle to become the one true god. This is an old game and it is now available for those who want some Dominions nostalgia or maybe just want to show their support for Illwinter Game Design. If you haven't played any Dominions game previously you probably want to start with Dominions 3 instead. (Go to Dominions 3 to find a forum where you can discuss this game and get technical support)

Make this game free. More people will download this and then more will buy next Dominions.
They have made previous games free (Conquest of Elysium 2), but I haven't heard any intentions to make the old Dominions games free.
I would agree that at least making Dominions 1 free might be wise, especially just before/after the release of Dom4.

Dominions II is configured wrong in Desura and launches steam instead of the game for some unknown reason. You will have to use the standalone download or wait until it gets fixed in Desura.
Now it should work properly from the Desura client too.
I tried to launch the game but keep having it run my steam.exe
I reinstall it a few time and it is still the same. Anyone can give me a fix here?

Since this comments section isn't the place to deal with these things (and the character limit on comment posts also doesn't help regarding offering help)
I think it's good that any problems with games are visible to people considering buying them though rather than hidden away in the support forum.
When i try to start the game it just pop un a little black window for like 0.7 sec and then the window close. Nothing happen after. I really want to play this game.
The game works just fine for me.
