Now that the dust of the release has settled, we're back to working on a new version of Digitanks. Now that the dust of the release has settled, we're back to working on a new version of Digitanks. This is the most fun part of game development, where we rattle off ideas and make rough prototypes to see what works and what doesn't. One of our major goals with this release is to expand artillery mode. We want it to resemble the old artillery games in a few particular ways, and we also have a bunch of ideas on how we can improve on that formula. We also have a bunch of visual and graphical improvements in the pipeline. We like this new direction a lot but I'm not going to announce any specific feature yet, we want to make sure that they're well hashed out before we promise anything. I'll be posting more about this in the next few days, in the meantime here's a quick screenshot of a guy who's been attacked with big bombs so much he's ended up in a big hole. Click to see a big version!

Interesting.
So how deep can this hole become where a tank is? Is it possible for it to fall through the game world to its doom?

Actually I finished a reorganization of the code the other day so that now there's no limit to how deep the whole can become. As long as you keep throwing bombs in there the hole will get deeper.
