The team is currently - due to copyright issues - moving away from the Digimon aspect of the game and will be using original monsters and concepts instead. It will still be DW1's spiritual successor, but without the digimon as to not upset copyright law. Check out our most recent posts for more info.

What will be the level of change in the visual aspect like:
1)Name
2)Models
3)Story
4)Background

Sadly You did not misunderstand. So to answer your questions
the name will be Project Dark World
Models will be in an updated style
Story will remain the background.
Background is what we have spent the most time redoing since we need
to step away from the digital aspect. We basically will be using Dark matter instead of something like magic.
Good to know to know and although you do have to do extra work, I think it can turn out much better than before(and it was pretty good already)

First of i love the name Project Dark World, and if the game stays with the same style only changing the names and models then it will be fine.

The digimon "Project Ark" fangame aspect is closed, but "Project Dark World" is something that will be very similar in tone, mechanics etc, just without the digimon. We're still working, we just haven't updated for a while - we'll have a new update very soon.
