The team is currently - due to copyright issues - moving away from the Digimon aspect of the game and will be using original monsters and concepts instead. It will still be DW1's spiritual successor, but without the digimon as to not upset copyright law. Check out our most recent posts for more info.

Alright, it's been too long. Come and catch up with where we're at.

There's plenty going on behind the scenes at Project Dark World and all hands are on deck, but it's been far too long since we last gave you all an update. So it's about time we give you an insight as to what's happening…

The team has been delaying any show of progress and keeping quiet until we feel we have reached a certain quality standard with our concepts and with development overall. We were also reluctant to talk about the game too early, or split our attention between development and regular updates too early. Sorry for keeping you all in the dark! Our aim is still the same; once we're ready there will be a steady flow of content the same as with dwprojectark's weekly updates.

Our coders have been relentless and made tons of progress recently. A lot of the coding up to this point has been in working on the dialogue system, not just text but things like branching events, character choices, and character and camera movement during dialogue scenes. We're aiming for the dialogue and battle system to be working by the end of this month.

The site launch has been pushed back by a few months; it's mostly ready to go, but we want to get everything up to a good standard. We have also been experiencing some issues with a few visitors unable to reach our page, so we're doing our best to investigate and fix that problem. If you are having trouble accessing the site, please let us know via email.

Something else worth mentioning - I'm happy to report we've reached well over 200 subscribers despite our lack of updates in the last 6 months, which has been very encouraging. Big thank you to everyone who has subbed so far. If you haven't, you can sub over on the landing page at projectdarkworld.com – subscribe to show the team your support! You'll be notified the week leading up to launch, and the moment we launch. Hopefully we have some more curious Project Ark fans wanting to check it out!

You can still reach us over at mailbox@projectdarkworld.com for general emails and inquiries, and if you're interested in joining the Project Dark World team and contributing in some way, please don't hesitate to get in touch at contribute@projectdarkworld.com

We're currently in need of members experienced in level design to really bring it home. They will be working alongside our artists in helping us create and shape the dark world, creating buildings, flora, clutter, all kinds of 3D world objects. We may be able to provide suitable textures. If you're interested and might have what it takes, get in touch; we'd love to hear from you.

As always, thank you for your support!
