One common barrier I see with Didgery is that people don't even start playing it because they think it looks too much like a card game. As soon as they see the cards they immediately apply all their associations of card games in general to Didgery. But Didgery is, honestly, much more than the average card game. It plays like a strategic puzzle game. The cards are simply the mechanic to pull the puzzle game off.
