Deus Ex Machina in an exploration into a fan remake and modernisation of the original in Unity, redesigning systems and game mechanics to conform to modern iterations of the franchise and the genre as a whole. Not designed to be an exact remake of the original but instead and evolution of it with the intention being at this early stage to produce a reimagined Liberty Island as a portfolio piece.
Did you often find it confusing and sometimes even frustrating that you where not able to use account information at all ATM's but instead a select few only in the level where the account information was revealed to you? And even worse, hacking the ATM prior to finding out said info only to then not be able to retrieve the funds as hacking renders ATMs inoperable?
In Deus EX Machina, this is no longer an issue, as you can hack any ATM at will without fear of baring your ability to retrieve funds, as all you need to do is find another atm regardless of location and then retrieve the funds as per normal.
Now without being too realistic, lets just say there are a number of different banks in each country that allow for the extraction of finds from another country. Instead of just baring your ability to do so, you can but with an added fee. Even though hypothetically, all of the banking conglomerates all operate under the umbrella of one global banking entity. (We have to allow for the artificial perception of customer choice right?).
