DENIZEN is a story driven FPS set in a grim science-fantasy world with a heavy focus on mystery, character interaction and dialogue.

DENIZEN
will launch on PC, Playstation and Xbox. The gameplay is a mix of new and oldschool games alike. Denizen blends the best aspects of RPG's, Shooters and Adventure games. Hello everyone!

We are happy to announce that today, we are releasing our anticipated "Kepler Labs Prototype" to the public!

You can download and play the prototype for free but we ask you to keep a few things in mind:

  • This is a prototype! Please don't expect final production quality.
  • This is not the game! The full game will have a more far reaching story and events will flow differently. This is intended to demonstrate DENIZEN's setting and gameplay.

With these things in mind we'd love it if you read DENIZEN's short backstory and then jump right in to explore the labs! Simply download and extract the attached .zip file. If you would like to see the game in action you can watch this video:

If you have any thoughts or comments please don't hesitate to drop us a line in the forums.

This prototype has been a lot of fun to put together. We hope you enjoy your stay in the Kepler Labs!

Will the combat be more engaging in future demos

I think the answer is yes! It depends on what you mean by 'engaging'. This demo was designed to be very easy and to give a brief look at some of the core stuff. future demos and the game itself will have more balanced (and challenging) combat. You will also fight enemies in different situations that put you at diffrent strategic advantages or disadvantages. The game will also have inventory mangement and resources will be more scarce so you will need to think through your actions more...

We've also got some enemies not shown who fight in some interesting ways, the police have AI that works better in more cover-rich scenarios and the Skralla will have more behaviours for hiding and re-engaging. And of course you will actually get to fight Dr. Brian.

If by 'engaging' you mean jumping out of an airplane from 20,000 feet to glory kill a skeleton... then probably not! :^)

If anything, kudos for the whole theme. Like dammit, this looks cool! Dark, but not "emphasised" dark that just makes everything dark and unappealing. And so far the best background I've seen on this website =D Also I like the inspirations a lot, so even if it's a personal opinion, I think this game has a future, good luck~
