You can play the demo right now! Play either in your web browser or download for Windows/Linux! (Mac version coming soon)
When you're done, export your save file, which you can use to continue your game when the full version comes out!
Defender's Quest is a Tower-Defense/RPG Hybrid tightly focuses on three things: tactical depth, customization, and story.
A fully playable demo has just been released, comprising Acts 1 & 2 (out of 7).

I saw this on Tigsource some time ago, and I must say I feel the same way when I see it again here...;
Why waste such beautiful tiles on a tower defence-game? I can imagine how awesome an action RPG this could have been :(
@Theon: have you played the demo yet? If so, fair enough :) If not, give it a try, you just might like it!
I played right through the demo and enjoyed it. I was playing in the browser so performance was a bit of an issue. I'm trying to download the Linux version now but there are no seeders.
@hemebond: It's supposed to web-seed from my public dropbox... is it not working for you?
At any rate, I'm online now so you can at least seed from my PC :)
Okay, I got it but it's a .deb for 32-bit Linux; I'm running 64-bit. Couldn't figure out how to organise the files to work within my home directory. Probably wouldn't work anyway, being 32-bit.
@hemebond: It uses Adobe AIR... I'll try and see if there's a flag to compile it for 64-bit (I think there is). Adobe has stopped supporting AIR on Linux which really bugs me, but this uses the old version which should still be compatible.
I'm downloading now :) It looks amazing!! Very beautiful.
I've finished the demo.
Great game!
Don't mean to be a negative Nancy, but is the portrait art final? It's a bit like oil on water, what with vector/flash style drawings with pixelated raster graphics, and they're not particularly great quality in the first place.
Gameplay is great and really fun though! Thank you so much for the fast-forward option!
@monkat:
This is the 100% most frequent complaint about the game. We went for broke on gameplay and skimped a bit on art. We'll see what we can do to make things look better before final release :)
