When I launch the game, the only thing that happens is a text file opening that says:
java -jar defender-full-1.03.jar
I'm running Ubuntu 13.10 64-bit. Any ideas?
I saw the same thing. It looks like Desura is trying to execute something that isn't a script.
Back up ~/.desura/games/defender-story/defender somewhere.
Then modify it to read:
#!/bin/bash
exec java -Xmx150m -jar defender-full-1.03.jar
The Xmx150m increases the JVM heap size; may not be necessary for you, but I wasn't able to run it without doing this.
Hello ? Here is a little comment from a real player who bought the game and tried it during a few hours (and yes i'm not english). Am i the only player thinking this game really needs to be balanced ?
Hi Mate,
I tried to balance the game in such a way that somewhat challenging to begin with. In order to gain levels and strengthen your units, you’re going to have to kill enemies, and even fail your first few stages,( your xp will compounded, so you should be able to level up quite quickly)...
A new patch has been released for the game.
Defender Story now launches as expected !
