Introversion Software presents DEFCON, a stunning multiplayer simulation of global thermonuclear war.

Take on the role of a General hidden deep within an Underground bunker.
Compete against the computer or online against your friends for total world domination.

Start by launching battleships, subs and bombers in order to decimate your opponents defences. Scramble together your alliances but remember only one can stand victorious.

Prepare your pre-emptive strike before one of your supposed allies gets the same idea. Choose the perfect moment to obliterate your opponents with an apocalyptic thermonuclear barrage, but get it wrong, and their devastating counter attack will bring you to your knees!

Its Global Thermonuclear War, and nobody wins. But maybe - just maybe - you can lose the least.

I love this, the beginning where we wait for Defcon 1 to quote totalbiscut " Fire ze missiles" because when it hits Defcon 1. ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE. Naval ships firing missiles, bombers nuking the cities, Silos firing the death machine of the century. IT IS SOO AWESOME.

I got this game for 5 bucks at a Goodwill. It was difficult to play at first, but after a few games I understood the mechanics. Not much of a visual game but still fun to wipe out the enemy nations.

is it me or do i find this a little bit the same as Global Domination on the PS1 - the very old game wich makes you dominate the same way by sending Ships,Rockets,Planes & etc. at other countries

great game. just wish it was cheeper so i could buy it. for a game this small i would rather not spend $15. but its amazing, when i was a kid i saw War Games and this is pretty much the same thing it even says "how about a nice game of chess" when you start a new game!

No, no, no. This will destroy the whole atmosphere and the SOUL of the game.
And what kind of campaign do you want? A nuclear war ends rapidly, there is no room for the campaign :)

Well-made game, brings back memories...
Nice graphics, easy enough to learn and the AI is a worthy challenge.
"Global Thermonuclear War" reimagined and revamped.

A great game for fans of "WarGames".
