Factory stations are the most common stations as they produce several kinds of higher tier products like hull plating, various tools and ship parts from raw materials. In this video you will see how to build such a station from it's hub to it's factory components.

Will it be possible to attach defense modules on to the factory station or other stations, sort of as a last line of defense?
And speaking of weapons, how do ship weapons work? Do they use turrets? If so, will there be cupola turrets on top of the other turrets, carrying smaller weapons?
You will be able to add extensions to some hubs. Usually upgrades, but also weapon platforms in some cases. More importantly, there are also separate turret hubs, with the only purpose to be fitted with tutrrets. Cupola turrets are not in currently, but they sound interesting.
