Cvltivation is a first-person experience in which one assumes the role of a self-configuring organism designed by a strange techno-cult. Aberrational meldings of flesh and machine roam the corridors of a surreal citadel rising from the decay of a dead planet, and it is with these beings that the organism must contend, and upon them it must feed, if it would ever know the truth of its imposed existence.
A series of disorganized doodles demonstrating the development of a character and the birth of stylization. The thimble-headed character I came up with a while ago, but I lost my concept art book and had to sketch him a few times to remember what it looked like. The other character's duty is to travel out into the frozen wastes and return with resources for the cult. From the start, I was in love with the idea of giving it a furnace for a chest, the hard part was figuring out what the rest looked like without it looking too much like the Ice Climbers.
