If anyone's interested in the essential future of STALKER, here's the Survarium facebook page with a few screesnhots, i'd appreciate it (If you've got an account) if you could like and share the "School" album so that the team will release another screenshot. It looks pretty good, and more importantly, like STALKER 2 :P

Yeah, after watching their newest developer diary, and some of the characters and things look like the ones that were to be in stalker 2, so thats good. Can't wait for survarium, i've been updating its page on this website.
Hey guys, do you think about Steam Greenlight? Try it, if this game would be avaible in Steam, we should be happy :3
Please please please D:
Soooo... when will the name be changed back?
Why would you want it on consoles when its made for pc? But I agree about GSC, totally totally sucks massive balls, but I still don't know why they closed down.
I think there was some political BS in the company, something about the owner wanting to get out of game development, but not letting anyone else in the company have the IP for STALKER. The devs went off and started their own company and are working on another game with a similar feel, using code and stuff they had worked on.
I think they always had issues at GSC - I recall reading that Metro 2033 was done by devs who originally worked on early versions of STALKER but weren't happy with the direction so went off and did their own thing... I think there was some controversy to do with shared code and assets.
The STALKER game engine had its problems, was very poorly optimised and hasn't aged well, though some community mods really make it shine. I think GSC should've just licensed something like CryEngine and worked more on the content.
The Vostok engine they're using for Survarium looks just as impressive as Cryengine 3 to me.
They couldnt Secure the IP for Stalker 2, And due to this they had no cards left to help them finacially so they had to disperse and Then they demolished the rights and STALKER essentially became Free To Establish new ownership. All someone needs to do is Get some old Devs, and start Devving STLKR II
Cause I heard there would be a console release for Stalker 2 and I was curious to see how it would turn out. I like playing ps3 but there aren't many games for it as good as stalker, Fallout wasn't close. Regardless, it kinda sucks that we won't see Stalker on a console but I guess thats just for the best, mouse and keyboard will always be a better controller lol
Actually, if it was going to be made for a console, it's direction would be FOR THE CONSOLE, and leave PC players feeling slightly disgusted, much like Skyrim.
Still, it's nice that some people care enough to make new stories and games for the universe.
