Contagion is a cooperative survival horror FPS built on the latest Source Engine where players are forced to watch their ammo and aim carefully otherwise be overrun by the zombie hordes. Players will face traditional zombies as well as former teammates who have been turned themselves and now see not friend but fuel to keep the carnage going.

Once GDC ended, we took some time to gather our bearings and review all the feedback we received. All we can really say at this point is that big things will be happening that could make a significant impact on Contagion. Now that we know where we stand and know what we need to do to improve, we're back in business with more determination than ever!
Today we're going to give you a sneak peek into a little zombie creation! Many may be wondering what kinds of zombies you'll encounter while playing Contagion. While we're not ready to reveal everything we have in store, we do want to show you what a few may look like. The timelapse video will reveal a little workflow sculpting for one of the many zombies you'll annihilate along the way!

Does this have any relation to the new movie coming out with the same name?
i have a question, will contagion be pvp only? or will there be AI zombies too?
well they did say its singleplayer too so it must be AI for that
im just wondering i know that your model renders are amazing but since your using source engine do they still look good ingame i mean on the alpha video you showed us to me it didnt look much better than zombie panic source and allthough i believe gameplay does come before graphics it would be nice to see the game looking abit different to zombie panic source.
so far this game looks like an instabuy to me!
I have some suggestions though which would make the game more survival-horror-orientated and more scary:
-zombies are very hard to kill unless shot in the head
-zombies will stand back up again after 20-60 secs unless you blew their head off/ burned them (hard to implement i guess, but that would be so awesome! you are in a constant hurry)
-ammo is rare (unlike in the teaser)
I don't know too much about Contagion and I'm wondering if this has a Story mode, Coop, or just Multiplayer? Will this have any kind of free roam?
I'm not really liking the iron sights....I feel they'll slow down the moderate pace of multiplayer that ZP is famous for. Does it really make a significant difference if you use them or not? I'd be nice if it only made a slight difference (like ten to twenty percent spread decrease) so you wouldn't be FORCED to use them all the time.
I like the grab and push animations.
Could you give us word on the inventory system? Are you sticking with item weight or something completely different, or are you throwing it out completely?
As it stands now there are levels of accuracy depending on movement and whether or not you use ironsights. Since we're leaning towards more survival where every shot counts it's currently recommended to take advantage of the improved accuracy especially with body shots not doing nearly as much damage as a head shot. You can however shoot from the hip but again not recommended.
Contagion is not ZP:S so the system we're using is new but some features will feel familiar (for now they do at least). I want to be clear though that we have not set in stone anything listed above and we're not yet ready to announce features that are. We will be posting updates on FB/Twitter as well as announcements here on IndieDB.com over time.
You could maybe add the hotwiring minigame from Alone In The Dark. It'd be awesome to drive it from a 1st person perspective, and have zombies clawing at the window as you race to find the right wires to hotwire it.
i hope if you do that you dont make them drivable in the multiplayer
