Comatose is an adventure horror game that explores the dreams, nightmares and realities of a troubled man with a dark past. After a terrible car accident you are put into a coma and forced to explore an evil and mysterious mind to build back your sanity piece by piece. With 100's of different dream and nightmare sequences that can happen at any random time the experience is different every time you play. Promised to drag you into the emotional and deep story as well as the terrifying insanity of your worst nightmares. Comatose will make sure you sleep with a nightlight on.

Hey everyone, welcome to the first Comatose development update. Things are coming along smoothly as we prepare to launch our Kickstarter on August 1st! We have made a lot of progress in the first month of development and are proud to show you the first look at gameplay within Comatose.
We are currently working on creating a playable alpha which will release in the next couple of months. The first bit of gameplay action features some core game mechanics such as wormhole teleportation and environment exploration. Enjoy!

Game Mechanics

Wormholes

  • In order the activate nightmares and dreams, you must first find the wormholes that trigger them. These are randomly spawned in the environment, with a few key dreams activated by picking up objects. These nightmares are random, so you never know what situation you are getting into. Many start in the middle of scenarios, making you stay on the edge of your seat. Comatose will deliver an emotionally jarring experience, which will have you crying tears of joy, and of terror, in the span of minutes.

Combat

  • In Comatose you are not some jacked up, steroid filled super human. You are just a broken man, driven insane inside his own mind. In order to survive you must use wit and what you can find in the environment. You won't be finding guns in every drawer, so be prepared to think outside the box! Every nightmare has a solution, each monster has a weakness, every door has a key. Its up to you to crawl back into reality.

End Game and Replay Value

  • We want Comatose to be a game that you will be wanting to keep coming back to for more. To ensure this, no two playthroughs will be the same. The nightmares and dreams that you trigger will be randomly spawned each new game. With no warning on what kind of nightmare you have triggered, you will need to be able to take in your surrounding immediately to prepare for whatever happens next.
