ChaosTower is now available on Greenlight.
It would be nice if you support me and vote for my game on Greenlight (Steam):

ChaosTower

Chaostower is a physics-based action puzzler.

Built a tower from a whole bunch of different parts and prove it against several natural forces like earthquakes, wind and meteors.
Defend your tower against artificial enemies, like robots, tanks, bomb-birds and many more.
Improve your turret's defense by a set of automatic cannons with different abilities (machingun turrets, cannons or gravity guns)
or directly control a configurable robot drone.

But beware, you only have a limited amount of cash for each level, to built a tower with a defined height, which must stand until the timer runs out, so decide wisely what items you purchase.
Depending on your purchases, you can define your playstyle: do you want to solve some puzzles including defense from some automatic turrets and shields,
or do you want to directly jump into the action and control a robot drone

Hi everybody,

And a happy new year!!!

Last weeks I focused on improving the Robot drone.
Including the following points:

- made the drone more responsive to the user input
- added a drone-item overly, showing the currently selected items
- added an ammo counter for some items
- added gravity mine as usable item
- added a cannon as usable item

Next I will work on the rocket launcher, so you can select a target the rockets will follow.

so long

Michael

The tutorial doesn't teach anything about enemies or defenses. In addition, it doesn't address existing map elements. For example, on the 3rd map i believe (?), it introduces 2 stands of some sort. You can't use glue to stick beams to them, and these "stands" move around (you can't keep them still). Is that supposed to be that way?

Also, it seems as if some of the maps allow 1 and only 1 way to win. I like physics games like this, but requiring the player to find the one and only solution (vs being creative) is a turn off.

Is this in beta? I'm hoping so. I'd like to see continued work on the game.

Hi,
thanks for the great feedback!

You are right, it doesn't teach anything about the enemies or defense, I am not yet sure, if I want to add this to the tutorial or descripe it in the game.

The stands are static objects of the level, which should not be editable by the player at all. The idea behind this is to give some kind of predefined setting, where the player needs to build including these elements.

You are right, there are currently only some ways to win, I think about giving the player more possibilties and then there will be a score (already added that feature).

Its still a beta yes, and there is already a lot of new stuff in the current version, so I will do an update for the Demo soon.

Thx for your opinion!

Note: these are no real levels only concept levels showing the ingame features. The level design and the tutorial will give you a good introduction to the different elements and enemies and make it possible to solve the "puzzles".
