Catyph Demo - First steps on Tytaah file - Catyph: The Kunci Experiment

You can download this Demo of Catyph. I think it can keep you busy around one hour if you don't use a walkthrough and never played the game.

This demo is the very beginning of the game. You visit a desolate plain with low mountains. It is raining, the sky is strange, full of a greenish fog. There seems to be nothing interesting around... until you discover buildings. Tytaah was not supposed to be inhabited: the Men of Terra never came so far in their Solar System. You have to investigate...

CATYPH is an independant and self-funded game, created by a single person over a period of 2 years. "I have learned a lot, thanks to the kind messages that I have received from all the people who played ASA during the past few years. Catyph might not be the most anticipated First Person Adventure game of 2016, but I hope it will impress you!"

My personal opinion about this demo:
It was difficult for me to release a nice demo. I know that most people like to try games before they purchase it, which I totally understand, and that is the main reason why I decided to release this demo. However I think that it is not representative of the quality of the game. The first reason is that the playable area is not really beautiful. It was made on purpose, in order to show that, as Terrans believed, there is nothing to see on moon Tytaah... The hero arrives on what he thinks is a desertic moon. The other regions are more varied, more exotic and more detailed. They also have more interesting puzzles. The puzzles in the Demo are way too difficult for a Demo! It was something I wanted in the full game, in order to put the player in situation immediately, and force him to use a paper to take notes. But for a demo it is probably hard to understand, and most people might be discouraged quickly. For these reasons I would recomment playing the Demo only if you are aware of what you'll discover inside: Catyph is a typical Myst-like adventure game, that is to say a 2D game with challenging puzzles, where you navigate with a point&click interface through static pics, and where you have to observe every detail and write them down with a pen on a sheet or paper, in order to find a logical way to progress in the game. If you are aware of this, then you can play the Demo and make your own opinion! Thanks for reading.
