Blocks That Matter is a puzzle/platformer in which a tiny driller robot travels underground in order to save its creators, kidnapped by someone who wants to steal their work. You are this robot, the Tetrobot : you can drill blocks of matter one by one, collect them, and recycle them into new pieces of 4 blocks. You also have the possibility to destroy lines of 8+ blocks in a very «retro russian» game style. Sand, wood, stone, obsidian, iron, diamond : each matter has its specific behaviour you'll have to use wisely and take advantage of them. So get ready to use your brain and combine your platforming and puzzle-solving skills in this incredible mashup! Contains 100% natural Slime extract and a lot of love for videogames history.

Hi all,

As some of you maybe already know, Blocks That Matter is a puzzle platformer released on Xbox Live Indie Games channel last month. To be more specific, it is a mash-up game that mixes gameplay mechanics from already existing games made of blocks like Boulder Dash*, Tetris and Minecraft: B,T,M. That's it, Blocks That Matter!

Well, as we mentionned on its XBLIG launch trailer, the game is also coming to PC, Mac and Linux real soon. We will use this IndieDB page to let you know how we are porting the game and to give you, computers' players, more info about Blocks That Matter's gameplay, art style and music.

We hope you'll read us and enjoy your trip along with Alexey, Markus and Tetrobot.

Looks great but regarding the trailer you really should show the build / block placing function earlier*, after showing the first few environments I though the platforming was pretty standard and was ready to switch page thinking I'd gained all the info I needed** - luckily the art style kept my attention a bit longer.
* I realise the collecting of blocks was displayed but without context it's easy to miss.
** Even though i'd read the minecraft reference up top... people's attention spans are often short for first impression.

Very nicely presented game and trailer overall though :)

I agree with your thoughts. We will release a new launch trailer for the PC / Mac / Linux versions with ore gameplay at the beginning. That's the plan :)

My thoughts exactly! :O
Sadly, despite including that awesome demon, I think the graphics look a bit uninspired...

I think the only thing that can make you think about Calcifer are the colours, red and orange, of...fire. That's all.
