Ace of Spades and Minecraft are the only 2 exceptions, as those do offer a unique experience. But after those two, there's nothing else unique you can really create with a block based world.
Sure there is. That's like saying there's nothing unique you can really create with any game that's already been done - FPS, RPG, tower defense, etc. There are an infinite number of games that can be created from a block world (just not this one apparently).

The only thing we have in common with infiniminer and minecraft is the voxel terrain and crafting. Everything else is different.
