The Free Demo for Blacksmith. Includes builds for Mac, Windows and Linux.
Devlog Day 4:
It’s been 1 week since we announced and released the trailer for Blacksmith. Today we are releasing a free playable demo!
Since last Thursday, I’ve been working on final fixes before the demo, adding a whole bunch of new Weapons and figuring out this whole social media thing. Maly (my girlfriend/artist/web developer) has been finishing the site and drawing the big piles of assets.
Today is when the real pain begins, as now that we are satisfied with our working vertical slice of the game, it’s time to put meat on the bones and go from the Bronze Age to the Iron Age. By next week I hope to have added (numbers are estimates): 20 Alloys, 10 Abilities, 5 Catalysts, a Dying table for cloth Armour, an Enchanting Table for elemental Enchants and if I have time, making the Dungeons and Enemies. This should add some meat to the bones. The REAL fun starts around mid-November.
If you want to try all that before the game is released at full price, send me a message and you can be one of the game testers. The demo is free for anyone to access for now.
Please send your feedback for the demo! If you could record it or put it on Youtube, even better! Let me know if there are any technical issues or problems running the game and I will work fast to fix them. There are some known issues but nothing game breaking.
Fun Fact of the day; Farmer Eric is inspired by a character/developer in one of Blacksmith’s main inspirations. The clue is in his name and haircut.
If you want to keep up to date with Blacksmith, follow us on Twitter. There will be a daily Development Log on the Website and a juicy update every week.
