Bernie Needs Love is, in essence, a simple and lighthearted platformer in which the player must guide Bernie, a nice but anguished old man chased by death, towards his girlfriend — while avoiding the many hazards of a poorly maintained yet beautiful city and collecting blue 'love-enhancing' pills to make it an extra-special night! In a time of eye candy and accessibility over gameplay and personality, Bernie Needs Love truly stands out from the crowd with its charming retro graphics, lovingly composed chiptune music, and hardcore difficulty level — which are sure to satisfy players who grew up in the 8-bit era.
A lot of efforts, but bleak result.
First, this game use Chromium ti actually run, so its damn big with little content.
Second, its hard to get running under linux
There is no music really, just one looped tune, gameplay is somehow similar to bit trip runner but with worse EVERYTHING. You just running from Death and trying np to fell in hazards. Gets borin pretty quicly.
I love 8 bit games, game has enough challenges worth playing ...
Nice little chalanging retro platform that really is worth a try.
The controlls feel smooth ans it's pixel graphics make the game a nice waist of time for retro lovers, casual gamers and people who will not wait to spend that less money on games.
7/10 - Story (Very cute and fun, but also very raw)
8/10 - Art (Cutting edge graph.. ahm... retro pixel look, little to minimalistic)
9/10 - Gameplay (Simple, straight forward gameplay, reacts a little to fast while in the air)
10/10 - overal impression (Awesome looking title for the five minutes you need to train your fingers and your antifrustration, the game is hard and sometimes very frustrating, but even more satying.
Defenitly worth its price - buy!
