Featuring a unique interactive narrative style and imaginative hand-painted environments, Bastion challenges you to build a new world from the broken remnants of the past.
Your goal is to create a safe haven in the wake of the Calamity, a cataclysmic event that shattered the world. The entire play experience is dynamically narrated, gradually revealing a rich backstory as a mysterious narrator recounts your journey in real time, giving deeper meaning to your every action. The combat throughout the game has a crisp and responsive feel, letting you discover an ever-growing number of satisfying playstyles, while the suspenseful story unfolds at your own pace.

Today Microsoft revealed more details about its fourth annual Summer of Arcade on Xbox LIVE, and that means some big news for us here at Supergiant Games: It means we can tell you that Bastion is coming to the Xbox 360 on July 20, less than a month from now. (Note our PC launch date is still to be determined -- our focus right now is on the Xbox 360 launch.)
Bastion will be the first Summer of Arcade title to kick off the program, and will be selling for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15).
With the game releasing so soon, we're very, very excited to see what you all will think of it. Thanks so much to all of you who saw the potential in Bastion to get us to this amazing point in our studio's relatively short history.

I don't know what makes this game so great, because the gameplay itself actually isn't very innovative or original. The artstyle, music, sounds and voice acting create a great atmosphere though, one of the greatest I have experienced so far. Definitely one of my favorites of 2011.

Will the PC version of this game be available on a digital distribution service other than Steam? Like Desura or GamersGate?
Hey, the PC version of the game is also on Green Man Gaming, GamersGate, Direct2Drive, Origin, and OnLive.
This game was fantastic. It was action packed, funny, challenging, enjoyable, rightly paced and wouldn't let me go till I revealed the (back)story.
Bonus points for the amazing soundtrack, voice acting and artwork.
I really recommend it to everyone, especially for the fans of Beyond Good & Evil; Psychonauts or even people who enjoyed "The Stanley parable" mod. :)
Sweet, alpha!
The current narrator was pretty good too.
