Story :
You're an astronaut sent to repair an old satellite. You just finished your mission when you notice a mysterious black cube drifting near you. You're totally hypnotized by this thing and suddenly jump in the space, breaking your security cable ! That's crazy, you seem to have forgotten all the dangers here, and when you finally catch this cube,your oxygen is low and you have no way to go back !!!
The game :
ASA is a 1st-person slideshow Adventure with great graphisms, based on exploration and very challenging puzzles. This was a solo-developped project created in 6 months with Adventure Maker in tribute to Riven and other Myst clones. ASA has been rated 4 stars out of 5 on the serious magazine Adventure Gamers.

Instead of dying though, he is transported to an enormous seemingly-abandoned spacecraft. That's where the player takes over, but before you can even get a sense of your surroundings, another spacesuit-clad figure emerges to steal your recently acquired cube. Your task, naturally, is to explore this strange ship (or the Ark as it's called), find the thief, retrieve the cube, and try to discover who built the Ark and for what purpose...

There are many reasons to play ASA if you like Adventure games.
One of them is this list of reviews, with an average rating of 15/20 in the press online.
Another good one is that most of the players who were fans of Myst or Rhem enjoyed this game and even asked for a sequel !
You could also play it because you're interested in TBT: The Black Tower, my next indie game, which will have a link with the story of ASA.
But today, the main reason is that ASA is on sale !

I've just bought and installed the game.
But when I try to run it on my computer, it failed and displayed "could not initialize directx"
I used the version 1.1 with the FR patch
My Computer is :
Win 8 64-bit
I7-720QM / 4GB RAM

Désolé c'est pas au démarrage c'est apres avoir fait new game vu la cinématique et avoir cliquer 3-4 fois.Je pense c'est le premier panorama.
Merci pour ces informations, je vais essayer de trouver une solution. Normalement ASA marche sans problème avec ta config. J'ai le jeu sous Win8 x64 et ça ne pose pas de problème en 1.1 avec patch FR.
As-tu essayé de lancer le jeu en compatibilité administrateur ? Tu peux essayer ça, en lançant le jeu directement sans passer par le launcher : dans les dossiers du jeu, il y a un sous-dossier Bin qui contient main.exe. Fais un clic droit dessus et choisis de lancer en tant qu'admin.
Si je tarde à répondre, tu peux aussi aller voir le support technique d'Adventure Maker : c'est le logiciel qui a servi à créer ASA, et la plupart des erreurs y sont liées. Comme je ne suis pas le développeur d'AM, ce n'est pas évident de résoudre tous les problèmes.

Je viens d'acheter le jeu. Il ne fonctionne pas. Au démarrage il indique "Unable to play video file. Method '~' of object '~' failed. puis ensuite "unable to load frame 0000 menu". Les vidéo fonctionnent bien avec WMP séparemment. Help!
Peux-tu me contacter en MP ? Ce sera plus simple à régler !
J'aurais besoin d'en savoir + sur ta config : win XP ?
As-tu essayé d'installer le patch de la section "downloads" ?

Aussi, il y a un fichier d'aide en cas de problème fourni avec le jeu. Tu dois l'avoir depuis le launcher. L'erreur que tu indiques correspond aux cas 1 à 3 il me semble ?

I'm sorry for these issues, and I believe that the new available Patch will solve them.
I'm still working on an updated version of the game that wouldn't need to be patched, but I ask everyone to be patient...
